Die Ou Lady Guest House boasts with Victorian-style elegance, rich history and being one of the first houses to be built when the historic town of Calvinia that was founded in 1851.

Guests are made to feel right at home by the warm, country-style hospitality from the moment you are welcomed at the door until the time that you leave. You will surely take with you warm and fond long-lasting memories of Die Ou Lady guest house, situated in the heart of the Hantam.

Situated in the vicinity of the Church Square in the historic town of Calvinia, the house has kept most of its original Victorian architecture, including the Victorian broekie lace that delicately decorates the veranda that stretches along the front of the house.

Conveniently situated on the premises is a beauty salon, restaurant, a picnic / seating area in a serene, luscious garden with a safe play park for your children. We are also Pet Friendly!

Die Ou Lady Calvinia Accommodation

We offer nine comfortable, furnished rooms, two of which boast a beautiful view of the Hantam Mountains. Each room is separate from the main house, and has its own separate entrance, en-suite with shower, braai facilities and a fully equipped kitchenette.  Other room facilities include:  Wifi, DStv, Aircon, Tea & Coffee station.

Camping Spot

We have a small camp site ideal for the camper passing through Calvinia looking for a place to camp for the night.  It can accommodate two caravans and, preferably, a group of friends or family due to there being one ablution block which is to be shared.

Die Ou Lady Restaurant

Die Ou Lady restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, and is open between 7am and 5pm daily, Mondays to Fridays. We are fully licensed.

Guests of Die Ou Lady guest house have the option to eat breakfast at the restaurant on Saturdays between 8am and 10am. Bookings are essential. 

Sit down for a delicious country-style breakfast or treat yourself to Die Ou Lady’s famous Karoo lamb neck for lunch, while being spoilt with the warmth of the Great Karoo country hospitality. View our MENU

Beauty Salon

Spoil yourself with the best beauty and pampering treatment Calvinia has to offer at the beauty salon situated on the premises. Salon Luzanne boasts a host of services that range from laser treatments to hair removal and Black Diamond Facials, and there is also a nail technician who specialises in nail art.
